Michael and his kids

Proud Brother

We were a little bit worried about how Dylan would react to having a new sister on the outside of Mommy's belly, all breathing and crying and taking everyone's attention, but from the first moment we brought her home (actually, from the moment he met her at the birthing center) he has been great with her. He immediately wanted to hold her.

We could tell that he really liked her when he took his new Thomas the Train stickers and covered her with them. Usually, he covers himself with them, but when he put them on her we knew that she had been accepted into the family.

Kisses!
Delia, or "Dee Dee" as Dylan calls her, slept through the whole introduction.

Last picture in the hospital

We went home on Thursday, February 9.
Getting dressed is exhausting! (I think the outfit was my brother's from 1981. It has a train on it, and I thought it might make Dylan a little more receptive to his new baby usurper, er, I mean sister, if she was dressed like a train, his favorite thing in the world.)

From the beginning Delia would not allow her arms to be included in the swaddle. No matter how tight she was swaddled she always managed to get an arm out.
