Last picture in the hospital

We went home on Thursday, February 9.
Getting dressed is exhausting! (I think the outfit was my brother's from 1981. It has a train on it, and I thought it might make Dylan a little more receptive to his new baby usurper, er, I mean sister, if she was dressed like a train, his favorite thing in the world.)

Brother and Sister comparison

From the beginning Delia would not allow her arms to be included in the swaddle. No matter how tight she was swaddled she always managed to get an arm out.

Dylan meets Delia

Dylan was so interested in meeting his new baby sister. He watched as she nursed and counted her feet and touched her nose. Then he wanted to hold her. He's a natural!

New arrival: Cordelia June

Cordelia June Patterson Vides came into the world at 9:54 pm on February 6, 2012. She weighed (allegedly, for there was some confusion later) 7 lbs. 1.3 oz and was 19 inches long. Labor lasted 3 hours from beginning to end. She was pushed out in 9 minutes. This girl was in a hurry to get born!

Check me out!

Being born is tiring business (for everyone)
